IBM Photo Studio at Pause Fest 2018

Custom Photo Studio Installation in Melbourne
Melbourne, 2018.
Here at Polite in Public, we love a challenge! When George P. Johnson came to us with a unique brief to provide a custom photo studio for IBM, we couldn’t wait to hear more.
The specialised install was conceptualised for Pause Fest 2018, Australaisa’s premier creative, tech and business event, hosted in Melbourne. We worked with George P. Johnson to integrate our hardware into a custom build. The installation allowed participants to self-operate the photo studio and minimised the need for large numbers of brand ambassadors.
Onsite, participants took part in a creative exercise in which their face was scanned for emotion using their Visual Recognition technology. Visual Recognition technology analyses images for scenes, objects, faces, colours, food and more. In this case, facial data and associated emotions were scanned and processed to form a unique portrait style digital artwork.
Of course, no one wants a digital artwork they can’t show off! We delivered the content immediately to participants using our proprietary Friend.VU social sharing platform. Once delivered via SMS or Email, the content was immediately ready to share on social media.
Creating instantly sharable branded content is our speciality. Our equipment can be retrofitted into existing builds or we can fabricate and deliver bespoke solutions based on client needs. We love unique projects like this one, so if you’re looking for a custom photo studio – hit us up.
